Our journey with Teams has been extraordinary whilst working from home. Meetings are so simple. The collaborative tools available to us makes the whole experience seamless and stress-free.
Here's 6 of the latest features we love:
- Meeting pre-join experience: this feature makes it much easier to configure your environment before entering a call. When joining a call, you are presented with all the audio and video controls for the meeting, including background effects and break out rooms options.
- End-of-meeting notifications: this automatically gives you a 5 minute warning when the meeting is about to end, whether you're in a private meet or a larger channel meeting. This stops us getting carried away and ensures we are always on time to our next meeting.
- Virtual Breakout rooms: this came in very handy at our pizza making Xmas party! It allows meeting organisers to divide the meeting into smaller groups to facilitate discussions and brainstorming sessions. A Breakout room can be created in a channel meeting, and the organiser can also jump between rooms.
- Share only what you need and control what others see: this gives you complete control and you can decide whether you need to show your entire desktop, or just a specific window. If someone is sharing their desktop, you can request the presenter to give you control.
- Together mode & the new scenes! This brilliant feature reimagines meeting experiences to help your people feel closer together even when you are apart. The selection of different scenes let's you set the tone and create a fun experience, whether it be a smaller conference room meeting, or an all-hands meeting held in an outdoor amphitheatre.
- AI based noise suppression: this automatically removes unwelcome background noise during meetings by analysing your audio feed, filtering out the noise and retaining only the speech signal. It really helps keep the focus.
These are some of the standout features that will enhance your meeting experience, and make up for the lack of face to face ones. On a monthly basis, Teams rolls out a bunch of new features and helpful tools for us to enjoy, so make sure you keep an eye out for those. 2021 is going to be huge.
